Local Moves
Pricing & Estimates

What about pricing? How will I be charged for my move?

Price is determined on four elements: labor, truck fee, materials and valuation/insurance.

  1. Labor – You pay an hourly rate for the number of movers and trucks that will be used for your move. This billing starts from the time they arrive at the job site and ends when they complete the job at your new address.
  2. Truck fee – You pay a truck fee for each truck at the end of the job that’s to cover the cost of the truck/s that will be used for your move. Keep in mind you will need a truck that has been specifically designed to move household goods, not to move freight.
  3. Materials - You pay for the exact cost of boxes and other packing materials provided by the movers during the move. Call us to get a full list of packing materials and prices.
  4. Valuation/insurance – This is an optional choice, if you have high value items that need to be moved and you need more than the basic coverage. Mark To Go Moving & Deliveries have a few solutions for you. Please call us for more details and pricing to insure your goods.

How many types of estimate are there?

In the moving and storage industry we have two types of estimates: a non binding estimate which means that your final cost will be based on the actual amount of hours and materials used for the job; and a binding estimate which gives you a guaranteed price that won’t exceed the amount quoted.

There are a few other things that you should know about estimates!

Get at least three estimates. This will allow you to make a fair objective comparison.
Compare apples to apples. Break down the elements of each mover’s estimate and make a detailed, realistic comparison of the parts, as well as the whole.
Expect estimates to fall with a reasonable range of each other. A good estimate should be no higher – or lower – than 20 percent of the final cost of the move.
Ask a friend. We also suggest that you will talk to your friends and co- workers. Get their unbiased opinions of movers they have worked with. Learn from their experiences and try to make a decision. No one wants to recommend a mover to a friend and have the move go badly. At Mark To Go Moving & Deliveries, we are proud to say that a large percentage of our new customers come to us from past satisfied customers.

What about last minute changes to my move?

If your plans change for any reason, make sure to advise your relocation consultant as far in advance as possible. We will send our estimator to provide you with a second on-site estimate, and based on that we will make the proper adjustments costs for the move.
